In-District School of Choice

Notification of placement for in‐district schools of choice will be provided in writing in mid June.

If there are more applicants for seats in a grade level than seats available, selection will be made based on a random lottery. If this application is approved, transportation to and from school will be the responsibility of the parent/guardian. In some cases, transportation may be provided.

Following are the guidelines for the Adrian Public Schools In-District Schools of Choice Plan. This policy and plan will be the responsibility of the Superintendent of Schools or his/her designee.

  1. All students will be registered in their "school attendance area" based on geographic lines.
  2. Any parent interested in selecting a different school in the Adrian Public School District must complete an In-District Schools of Choice application. The applications are available in all school buildings and at the Administrative Offices. Applications must be returned to the Administrative Offices by the first Friday in May.
  3. Transportation may not be provided to those students approved for schools of choice.
  4. All applications will receive consideration. Students will be assigned to their school of choice based on the following:

    1. Available seats in the grade level in that school building.
    2. If there are more applicants for seats in a grade level than are seats available, selection will be made based on a random lottery.
    3. Siblings will be given priority for placement in the same school.
    4. Notification of placement in schools of choice will be provided in writing in mid June.
